Sharmila Kantha is Principal Consultant with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s apex industry body. She has been associated with Indian industry for twenty years, working extensively on economic policy issues. Her main areas of work include macroeconomic and industrial policy, manufacturing and competitiveness, and India’s international economic engagement.
Sharmila’s published books include The Big Leap: How Indian Companies Leveraged Reforms for Success (HarperCollins India, 2013); India Unlimited: A Corporate Journey (Penguin India, 2010); Building India with Partnership: The Story of CII 1895-2005 (Penguin India, 2006); and Manufacturing: The India Way (ed) (CII, 2016). She has also published numerous articles and columns on economic issues.
