India-Nepal relationship is an important element of India’s Neighbourhood First policy, as the two countries enjoy close historical and cultural ties which are sustained by an open border, the only such mechanism in South Asia.
New Delhi and Kathmandu have embraced the idea of ‘shared prosperity’ which opens many avenues for future cooperation between the two countries, although challenges persist and need to be addressed. Such close ties need assessment from time to time and to ensure this, NatStrat in association with the Nepal Institute for International Cooperation and Engagement (NIICE), Kathmandu, brings an important issue on Nepal that explores the important facets of India-Nepal engagement .
