B. Kannan

Vice Admiral B. Kannan PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1973 from the Government. College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He served the Indian Navy for 40 years during which he was decorated with 3 Presidential awards namely, the Vishisht Seva Medal (1986), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (2009) and Param Vishisht Seva Medal (2013). During his tenure in the Indian Navy, he completed his M. Tech from IIT Powai and MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai. Following his retirement from the Indian Navy, he was the MD and CEO of L&T Shipbuilding Company, Chennai, for five years. Presently he has settled down at Coimbatore and engages in giving lectures on techno-economic topics.
