Tariq Ahmad Karim

Ambassador Tariq Karim, Director, Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies at the Independent University, Bangladesh, is concurrently Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow at Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of the National University of Singapore, Member, Advisory Board of the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) of the USA, and Honorary Adviser Emeritus of the Cosmos Foundation, Bangladesh. A former career diplomat since 1967, he has served notably as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States and Iran, and as High Commissioner to South Africa and India. He has taught courses on Government and Politics and Ecological Security at University of Maryland, on International Relations of South Asia at George Washington University and Business and its External Environment at Virginia International University in the USA.
