Rakesh Sharma

Lieutenant General Rakesh Sharma is an Infantry officer who retired after 40 years of service in 2017. He commanded the Fire and Fury Corps in Ladakh. He is currently the General Bipin Rawat Chair of Excellence at the USI, is on the Faculty of the Indian School of Public Policy, New Delhi, a Distinguished Fellow of Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) and the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), and on the Executive Council of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA) and the USI.

General Rakesh Sharma is a prolific writer and regular participant in seminars, is a guest lecturer at various institutions around the nation, and writes for newspapers and military journals.
